MacDonald, Arlene "Mike" Ruth (nee Evans)
Passed away quietly on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 86 years old. Beloved wife of the late Jack Alexander MacDonald. Loving mother of Cindy Clegg (David Gladders) , Jayne (John Jakub), and David (Sarah Lloyd). Devoted grandmother of Emily, Laurel, and Robin Clegg, Lisa Jones, and Jesse, John, and Serena MacDonald, and great-grandmother of four. Survived by her sisters Joan Bot, Eleanor Cremasco, and Patricia Reilly, all of Guelph. Arlene lived a rich and rewarding life, filled with travel, interesting people, and loving family. From her long term base on Dufferin Avenue, she engaged life head-on with enthusiasm, intelligence, and a caring heart. Fondly remembered as "Miss Mike" by her many friends and admirers in Carolina Beach, North Carolina and throughout the South. At Arlene's request, cremation has been arranged with the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, (519) 752-4331. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mike's life at the Brantford Golf & Country Club, on Thursday, Feb. 19th, 2015 from 2 - 5 p.m. Cremation & Burial of Ashes at Farringdon Burial Ground. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, UNICEF, or Nova Vita would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Arlene in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
