NAGY, George - Peacefully at Brierwood Gardens, Brantford on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in his 90th year with his loving family by his side. Loving husband of the late Audrey. Much loved father of Debra (Philip) Smith and Sandra (Mike) Veer. Grandfather of Sarah (Trevor) Ford, Aaron (fiancee Stephanie) Smith, Joel (Jessica) Smith, Jordan (Heather) Smith and Michelle Veer. Great-grandfather of Charlotte, Quinn and Asher. Uncle George will be greatly missed by Ken Lock, Kathrine (Mark) Bigwood, John (Susan) Lock, David (Sonya) Lock, Joan (Rev. Mark) Lambert and the Rev. We will miss him terribly, but family and friends who knew him well, will have his smile in their hearts forever. George worked in lumber camps in Northern Ontario as a teen and helped build the Airport at Burtch during World War II. He worked in Toronto for 36 years at Addressograph Multigraph starting out in the shipping department and worked his way up to Factory Manager. Taking early retirement at 56 years of age, he pursued his passion of vegetable gardening and taking time in the summer to enjoy fishing at the cottage in Bancroft. George was a very generous man and always put others first. Friends will be received at Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Sunday, February 12 from 2–4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Allan McQuarrie officiating.
