You were enough of a man for wee Margaret Black to decide to marry you. That is perhaps the most glowing testimonial any man could ever get.

You were fond of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘IF’ with its craft connotations. That great man also once said:

that fits, I think, as a farewell. ‘Til we work again together, Dad, rest easy and say hi to Mum. We miss you both now.
