SMITH, Elsie (nee Tonge)

November 29, 1919 – October 7, 2014

Passed away peacefully at the BGH on Tuesday October 7, 2014 with her family at her side.Exactly one year to the day, Elsie was reunited with her beloved husband of 76 years, the late Eddie "Fred" Smith. Much loved mother to Jean (John) Munro and Carol (Paul) Barks. Proud and loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to her care givers especially, Wilma, Jen and Frances and all the wonderful staff on 7C at the BGH. At Elsie's request cremation has already taken place. Friends will be received at the BECKETT - GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, on Saturday, October 18th, from 1 – 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 pm. Donations to the Brantford General Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Elsie in the Beckett - Glaves Memorial Forest.
