UHRYN, Muriel Elizabeth Elmira (nee Dalrymple) - We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our mother and Nana, Muriel Elizabeth Uhryn on June 2nd, 2009 at the Brantford General Hospital, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, in her 82nd year. Loving and cherished wife of Michael Dmytro Uhryn for 58 years. Muriel will be deeply missed by her children, Karen (Greg) Zinger of Guelph, Bill Uhryn, Jan (Sherry) Uhyrn, Gary Uhryn of Brantford, and Pamela (Peter) Hall of Washington D.C. Nana will be greatly missed by her 8 grandchildren Leslie (Aaron) Furlong, Aaron (Lindsay) Uhryn, Nicholas Uhryn, Julie Linington, Danny Linington, BJ Garrett, Jessica (Joel) Myhre, and Jeremy Zinger. Great-Nana will be truly missed by her 8 great-grandchildren, Owen, Sydney, Andrew, Jorden, Aliyah. Ashton, Alyssa and Luke. Predeceased by her parents Willam Elsworth and Mary Elizabeth Dalrymple of Salt Springs, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, her grandson Gerald John, daughters Donna Elizabeth and Mary Lynn and daughter-in-law Brenda Lee. She will be sadly missed by her best girlfriend and sister-at-heart Bernice Chambers, of Brantford. Fondly remembered also by her friends in the neighborhood, Lions Park Seniors Club and staff and residents of Penmarvian Retirement Home. Mom will always be remembered in our hearts for her love and devotion to her children and family, her steadfast spirit and her beautiful smile. A Graveside Committal Service will be held at Farringdon Burial Ground, 287 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Brantford on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Joseph Dunkerson Officiating. Friends will be warmly received after the service for refreshments and reflection at 178 Mt. Pleasant Rd. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to all of the staff on the 5th and 6th nursing floors, and especially the Palliative Care Unit at the Brantford General Hospital for the compassionate care and comfort provided to our beloved mother. A special thank you to Dr. Eddy for all the many years of dedicated care to our mother and family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at the Brantford General Hospital would be appreciated. a tree will be planted in memory of Muriel in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
